Avoiding Fibromyalgia Flare Ups

Those suffering from fibromyalgia know a flare up is what separates a good day from a bad day. Over the course of a good day symptoms of fibromyalgia might be light and only intermittent, allowing the sufferer can continue with regular activities as normal. It is during a flare up the disease displays it debilitating power. In such times it is hard to function, much less work or engage in normal social interactions. Pain relief is most commonly required to increase overall wellbeing.

Avoiding fibromyalgia flare ups is sometimes not possible. For example, some patients reported a change in the weather (especially with respect to humidity or air pressure) will lead to a series of flare ups. There is no way to avoid this kind of increase in symptoms. The patient can only hope to ride out the worst of the pain with the help of natural pain relief and pain coping exercises.

There are some flare ups which can be avoided, however. In these cases it is a good idea to become very much in tune with one’s body. Take for example the need to exercise for a healthy body and mind. In a healthy individual the idea of exercising to the point of physical exhaustion is not seen as a bad thing. But, for someone who is suffering from fibromyalgia over vigorous exercise may actually have an adverse affect. It can bring on a flare up that shows itself with severe pain in a variety of places.

Stress is another component contributing to a fibromyalgia flare up. This kind of stress may be aimed at a social situation considered harmful, unwanted or simply confrontational. Or, it may be stress associated with work or due to money worries. Since the disease is somewhat debilitating, the sufferer will frequently miss time from work. It is not surprising this leads to stress because of a possibility of being terminated or not respected in the office.

It can be a vicious cycle, difficult to control or stop. It is hard to avoid this kind of everyday stress. But, every effort must be made to do so! In addition, the use of a natural pain reliever with a natural magnesium supplement on a daily basis has been shown to have some wonderful effects on the bodies and minds of those affected by fibromyalgia.
